Marketing & Communications Intern

We are seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern to support our social media and PR teams this fall.

Wingard is seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern to support our social media and PR teams this fall. This internship provides an opportunity to work on real-world projects, contribute to strategic efforts, and build valuable skills in social media marketing, content creation, and public relations.

Position Details

  • Location: Jacksonville, Florida
  • Position Type: Internship (10-15 hours per week)
  • Duration: Fall semester, with the opportunity to extend to spring

what you'll do:

  • Assist with social media content creation across multiple platforms.
  • Help brainstorm ideas and assist with social strategy execution.
  • Track social media metrics and make recommendations to support client strategies.
  • Assist with writing and editing blog posts, supporting internal and client content strategies.
  • Learn the basics of social media marketing across multiple social platforms.
  • Support the PR team with media list development and research.
  • Track media coverage and compile reports for internal and client use.
  • Draft press releases, media alerts, and pitches.
  • Provide general administrative support to the marketing and PR teams as needed.
  • Assist with event planning and logistics.
  • Attend internal and client meetings.
  • Learn the Account Service basics like project management and editorial calendars.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • A current college student studying marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
  • A strong writer and communicator with keen attention to detail.
  • Passionate about digital marketing and storytelling.
  • Familiar with social media platforms and basic content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms are a plus!).
  • A proactive team player with strong organizational and time-management skills and the ability to pivot.

Intern will be paid an hourly rate of $15 per hour, working 10-15 hours per week. During the first few weeks, the intern will work in person to make the onboarding process smoother, and from there, a hybrid schedule can be built with at least one day a week in person at the office. 

Wingard will provide access to a temporary company device, company email, and the necessary software systems for work.
