Hi, I’m Hannah. I’m a senior at the University of North Florida studying marketing, and I’ve had the absolute privilege of becoming part of the Wingard team as an intern this past fall semester. Stepping into agency life means learning fast, thinking on your feet, and embracing the fact that no two days are ever the same. The pace is quick, but that’s what makes it exciting.
There’s no such thing as a “typical” agency day, but there is a rhythm!
That rhythm is what I’ve come to know as an intern at Wingard.
9 AM - Mornings Start with a Huddle
Most mornings kick off with our team huddle: a quick check-in to align priorities and set the tone for the day. It’s the calm before the pace picks up.
Once the huddle wraps, it’s usually straight into calls.
9:30 AM - Calls, Clients, and Coffee
Agency mornings often involve client or internal meetings. Each project (and client) is different, which means the ability to adjust strategy and creative direction is key.
Somewhere between meetings, I usually step out to grab coffee from BREW 5 Points. It’s the perfect boost to get me ready to jump back in!
11 AM - Building the Basics
Late mornings are often dedicated to training and learning new software, like our project management software, Wrike. While it was challenging to learn at first, understanding how these platforms work has shown me how projects stay organized and move forward. What’s made the biggest difference is having a team that’s patient, supportive, and always willing to lend a hand.
It’s a reminder that learning continues well beyond the classroom.
1 PM - Focus Time
Afternoons are when I settle into focus time. This is when I work on content calendars, scheduling, and brainstorming creative ideas. Canva plays a big role here — whether I’m designing graphics or exploring new ways to bring concepts to life.
It’s also when everything I learned earlier in the day starts to connect. Meetings turn into action, and ideas come alive.
And Just Like That, It’s 5 PM
Before I know it, everyone is wrapping up their day. Projects have moved forward, and tasks have been checked off. As the day winds down, I can reflect on what has been accomplished and how those moments have contributed to my growth.
Finding My Own Rhythm
Looking back on my semester as an intern, this experience became so much more than learning about new platforms or completing projects. I had the opportunity to learn how ideas come to life in a collaborative environment. I gained confidence by taking ownership of projects, seeing my creative work evolve from concept to execution, and reflecting on how each piece could be improved over time. Being trusted to contribute, learn independently, and grow alongside experienced professionals made the experience not only challenging but rewarding. By the end of the semester, I felt not only proud of the work I had produced, but also of how much I had grown.
This year, I’m excited to carry this momentum forward as I transition into a part-time role in the digital department. What started as an internship has grown into an opportunity to keep learning alongside a team that continues to shape so much of my growth.
