What It’s Like to Work With Us: A Day in the Life of a Creative Team Project Manager

You know that feeling when everything just works? Like someone read your mind, answered your questions before you could ask them, and somehow, magically, kept the train not only on the tracks, but right on time?

That’s not magic. That’s a Project Manager.

At Wingard, our Project Manager is the low-key powerhouse who makes sure every campaign, every design, and every deadline hits the mark. They’re behind-the-scenes orchestrators who bring coordination, calm, and clarity to even the most fast-paced projects.

Mornings Start With Momentum

Every day kicks off with a quick huddle. The creative team regroups to align on priorities, review task lists, and share feedback, with our Chief Creative Officer, David Wingard, chiming in with insights and approvals. It’s like the daily stretch before the creative sprint.

Our PM is there not just to listen, but to translate: clarifying deliverables, answering questions, and making sure no detail is fuzzy. (We’re allergic to fuzzy.)

Inbox, Wrike, Repeat

Once the caffeine kicks in, it’s a dance between Gmail and Wrike, our project management platform. The PM checks for anything that needs a response — client requests, AE notes, vendor check-ins — then dives into Wrike to review design work and assign tasks.

But it’s not just about moving things along. It’s about moving them right.

That means:

  • Reviewing the creative against the brief (no wild cards allowed).
  • Proofreading copy for sneaky typos or grammatical stumbles.
  • Ensuring brand consistency down to the last pixel.

Constant Coordination, Never Chaos

Throughout the day, you’ll find our PM jumping into internal check-ins, AE syncs, project kickoffs, and the occasional client meeting. Even when not front-and-center, their presence is felt. Think of it this way: your PM is the person who makes sure your files are accurate, your deadlines are doable, and your creative isn’t being derailed by a missing spec or an unanswered question.

Small moments of magic happen constantly:

  • Catching a typo before anyone else sees it.
  • Relaying client files while an AE is in an off-site meeting.
  • Hunting down an ancient file on the server.
  • Clarifying which copy to use when multiple drafts are floating around.
  • Asking the question no one thought to ask — until it was almost too late.
